Adobe Dreamweaver

A web development application, Adobe Dreamweaver is now developed by Adobe systems. This application is available for both Mac and Windows operating systems. Recent versions have incorporated support for web technologies such as JavaScript, CSS and various other scripting languages.

Dreamweaver allows users to preview websites in locally installed web browsers. It provides synchronization and transfer features which has the ability to find and replace lines of text or code.

Dreamweaver can use third party extensions to extend core functionality of the application. The software is supported by a large community of extension developers who make extensions available.

Just like other HTML editors, dreamweaver edits files locally and then uploads them to the remote web server using SFTP, FTP or WebDAV. The CS4 version of WebDAV now supports the Subversion (SVN) version control system.

Dreamweaver has a feature called ‘Related Files’ that enables one to edit files such as HTML, JavaScript, XML and others.
